Beskrivelse

Back in 2007 I started wondering what science teachers actually thought about the ongoing international assessments and accompanying revisions of primary and lower secondary science education in Denmark. I chose to focus on the individual science teachers; as it is them that do the actual teaching in science classrooms every school day. That ended up in being my PhD thesis 2013.
I focused on the relation between the individual science teacher’s life and work. The relation between science teachers life and work is an entanglement that is best depicted by the way that pea plants grow. In danish we say ‘det hænger sammen som ærtehalm’, which can be translated to it is entangled like pea plants.

Two years ago I had a flashback as I started to wonder about Science teacher educators entanglement of life and work – my own kin.
Was that just a fata morgana or is it really so? – that’s the endeavour I recently have undertaken to investigate.
