Beskrivelse
The community of Friland on Djursland in Denmark was founded in 2002. The community then bought church land from the lokal Church and converted it into building plots for the community Friland. Approximately 45 families settled down and committed themselves to developing a sustainable village with local jobs, more leisure time and a community where everyone would live debt-free and start their own business. The people in the village also undertook to live sustainably by handling their own waste and building their own house. The families have had different reasons for investing their whole lives in this social experiment, which is so clearly different from the rest of Danish society. An experiment that should give them life and resources back in a diverse village. In 2019, there were 45 households with approximately 75 adults and 35 children.
