    Beskrivelse

    Læringsmål: The students know the concept of urban health and its context-related nature as well as the many academic disciplines it contains.
    The students know a variety of health consequences of living in the city
    The students know the possibilities of promoting health in the cities as well as the risks of urban life
    The students are aware of the inequities of health in the city
    The students know about the special health related problems among the social vulnerable groups of the population
    Objectives of skills
    The students can reflect on the meaning of relevant analytic themes related to health in an urban perspective such as inclusion and exclusion, gender, ethnicity and economy.
    The students draw on a professional perspective in the analysis of the possibilities and restrictions for the urban population in order to live a good and healthy life in a national as well as an international perspective.
    The students can interact with people and activate them in their own living environment.

    Objectives of competences
    The students can identify ethical problems and dilemmas in the practice of the social and health care professions in relation to the field visits
    The students are capable of searching for, applying and promoting research based knowledge as a fundament for professional practice


    Undervisnings- og arbejdsformer: A combination of theoretical lectures and discussion in groups.
    Clinical visits
    Approaching the end of the course, a workshop takes place. The workshop provides the students with an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences from their field visits. At the workshop, groups of students give a presentation based on their field visits and their analysis of the data collected during their field visits. Eventually, the students write an exam paper, which will be graded according to either Danish or Finish grading system.

    The students are encouraged to participate in dialogs and discussions of the theoretical frame and theoretical perspectives presented by the lecturers
