Karoline Stjernfelt will give a presentation about her work on “I morgen bliver bedre" (Tomorrow will be better”), the historical comic trilogy about Christian VII, Queen Caroline Mathilde and Struensee. The series has received critical acclaim and has won the Danish Ministry of Culture’s Illustrator Prize, among other awards.

Stjernfelt talks about the work of telling and interpreting the historical drama in the comic, the use of visual aids to stage 18th-century politics and intrigue, and how to create characters based on people whose deaths date back 250 years – so that they feel alive and present on the page and to the reader.

About Karoline
Karoline Stjernfelt is a cartoonist and author with a special interest in the dramatic, the poetic and the unfathomable in existence. Best known for the critically acclaimed main work "I morgen bliver bedre" (tomorrow will be better) about Danish King Christian the VII (the 7th), Caroline Mathilde and Struensee. This body of work has won the Pingprisen and the Claus Deleuran Prize for best Danish cartoon, as well as the Ministry of Culture's Illustrator Prize.
