Advancing Bildung in School: Science and Technology in SHAPE (ABIS)

The purpose of the Advancing Bildung in School: Science and Technology in SHAPE (ABIS) project is to advance Bildung in school by investigating the role of science and technology in SHAPE subjects (Social sciences, Humanities and the Arts for People and Economy) focusing on the LIFE initiative STEM-in-SHAPE that develops learning resources from primary to upper-secondary education.
ABIS will develop a revised concept of Bildung and new didactic approaches for teaching science and technology in SHAPE subjects integral to the core of those subjects, in close critical and constructive dialogue with the STEM-in-SHAPE development project. In an interdisciplinary collaboration, we will critically examine and share insights through research seminars and publications, which will continuously inform practice-based means of dissemination as well as a professional development program for teachers to ensure that LIFE’s initiative has a lasting impact, both within LIFE and beyond.
