European Typographic Proofreader

The main objective of the project is to provide the professional and general public in the EU with a tool that will bring any text written in one of the 24 official EU languages into compliance with the typographic rules in use in that language. While existing technologies allow most typographical errors to be corrected automatically, no such tool has yet been developed. Perhaps this is because such a project depends on extremely time and money consuming research that would be difficult to carry out without a grant. This research will result in a publicly accessible database of these rules, followed by an on application that will be accessible and useful to ordinary users.
