Exploring Teachers as Writers – Creating Education-Related Texts

  • University of Strathclyde

Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

This investigation explores how primary and secondary teachers in Scotland and Denmark write in the course of the jobs.
Teachers do a wide variety of writing tasks in the course of their work, including classroom materials, parent communications, educational reports, and more. These documents are different genres, for different audiences, and take varying amounts of time. However, despite the expectation that teachers produce texts, there is no research on how much, exactly what kinds, and what approaches might be taken. Essentially, although teachers write in their profession, they are not seen as ‘professional writers.’ As well, the emergence of GenAI may have an impact on how teachers write, but it is not clear yet what that impact is.
