Summary of the project (250 words max)
The project partners are committed to fostering Futures Literacy in education within the Nordics. Recognized by UNESCO as a fundamental skill, Futures Literacy is the capacity to understand how images of the future influence our perceptions of the present, and the ability to generate novel images of possible futures to explore alternative courses of action.
The aim of this project is to design, develop and test a teaching module tailored specifically for university college students training to be teachers at the primary and secondary school level and other related professions. This module will introduce them to the concept of Futures Literacy and equip them with one or more tools to effectively incorporate future-oriented teaching and critical thinking methods into their own practice. By doing so, we aim to empower
future educators and related professionals to instil this crucial competency in their students and coworkers, thereby fostering informed decision-making and innovative problem-solving for a more sustainable future.
This initiative is a step forward in the partners' ongoing commitment to promoting social sustainability in the Nordics through education.

Projektet samler nordiske partnere om at styrke Futures Literacy, en kompetence der anerkendes både i EU’s GreenComp-ramme og af UNESCO. Futures Literacy handler om at forstå, hvordan vores forestillinger om fremtiden påvirker nutiden, og om at kunne skabe nye billeder af mulige fremtider. Projektet udvikler og afprøver et undervisningsmodul målrettet professionshøjskolestuderende; på VIA afprøves det i valgfaget/talentsporet Verdensmålsambassadørkorpset. Formålet er at introducere de studerende til Futures Literacy og give dem konkrete værktøjer til at arbejde fremtidsorienteret og kritisk inden for deres fagområde, så de kan træffe mere informerede valg og tænke innovativt i mødet med komplekse samfundsudfordringer. Initiativet understøtter partnernes fælles ambition om at fremme social bæredygtighed i Norden gennem stærkere og mere fremadskuende uddannelser.
Nøgleresultater
Konstruktiv feedback fra de studerende i forhold til at lære om Futures Literacy, men også anvende kompetencen i forhold til de projekter de udvikler løbende i forbindelse med deres deltagelse i Verdensmålsambassadørkorpset. Herunder også fin brug af teorierne bag i forbindelse med deres eksamen.
Et yderst konstruktivt og givende samarbejde med de øvrige partnere og særlig Center for fremtidsforskning, hvor samarbejdet udmøntede sig i et læserbrev.
