Nøgleresultater
By replacing plastic and Styrofoam materials with environmentally sound products such as eco labeled reusable and recyclable containers, EVOO can contribute to a more sustainable consumption. A few other practices to be more environmentally responsible, includes to actively choosing products produced locally in the Nordic countries with Nordic Ecolabels, such as toilet paper and paper towels with chlorine-free, recycled paper. Additionally, to swap out all conventional cleaners that use harsh chemicals that don’t break down and furthermore pollute the air, and to instead find an eco-friendly alternative. Finally, by choosing products with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, which is the official Ecolabel of the Nordic countries, EVOO chooses to reduce their overall carbon footprint. There’s also room for improvement in reducing energy consumption by replacing or upgrading the kitchen equipment, such as an eco-friendly refrigerators, eco light bulbs, energy-efficient ovens, and all other better-quality appliances that use less energy without impacting performance, saving on money that goes towards energy costs. With guests that are more conscious than ever before about where their food comes from, there comes an increase in responsibility for restaurants to be more responsible in how they operate their businesses. Becoming an environmentally friendly restaurant can satisfy current guests, attract new customers, and most importantly, protect our planet. With the recommendations made in this report, we hope to benefit the environmentally sound and lean practices of EVOO as it expands to greater sizes and serves to stand out from other restaurants around it.
