Renewable Energy Integration into Electrical Grid and Energy Management of Buildings

The research focuses on the integration of supply technologies based on renewable energy sources into residential as well as industrial buildings. Additionally, major effort is put into energy savings, i.e. improvements in the energy conversion efficiencies and in the recovery of waste heat. Photovoltaics, solar thermal, heat pump technologies, smaller wind turbine systems are in the focus of the research. Intermediate and seasonal energy storage on top of the interaction with public networks is part of research as a means of balancing time discrepancies between the supply and the use of energy.
