Urban Journalism and IoT with LoRaWan News, products and business models in a democratic smart city

Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

The project will be undertaken in 2018 and 2019 in collaboration with a major, private media house, Århus Stiftstidende/Jysk Fynske Medier, a regional public service TV station, TV2 Østjylland, and ITK Lab Aarhus, which is a public institution partly based on commercial activities. Such a collaboration has never before been undertaken in Denmark. The media houses will supply stories, news flows, and publishing channels and platforms. ITK Lab will develop and implement, among other things, digital solutions, in the city’s public spaces and has at its disposal the technical competences required to act in an IoT network and the Open Data Aarhus platform.
The project will be led by the Danish School of Media and Journalism, acting as a hub for intersectoral and interdisciplinary matching of ideas and integration. Staff from DMJX will undertake follow-up research as the project progresses. Researchers from Aarhus University will be invited into the process.
