An 8-week interdisciplinary learning module, which focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship

Abstract

Background
In Denmark all the Professional bachelor degree educations have a common interdisciplinary module. UCN has five different bachelors degree in health. The five kinds of student spent 8 weeks together, learning about interdisciplinary and health. The learning modules are coordinated by a team with members from the five educations. The team has developed an 8 -week learning mod-ule, which focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship. The interdisciplinary module has an inno-vative didactic design using blended learning as the overarching principle.
Relevance
Our workshop contributes to the topic:” Innovative and sustainable teaching for health and social care education”. The interdisciplinary learning module contributes at several levels to match future challenges in the health services for students and teachers. The different innovative learning methods also contribute to students' development of individual competencies in relation to particular communication, the technological capabilities and complexity in interdisciplinary cooperation and collaboration in general. The innovative learning methods are extended use of blended learning, much fewer lectures and more student activity through virtual discussions, e-learning and more. A central part of the evaluating test of the module is an innovative camp. During 24 hours the 250 students are guided through an innovative process to form a concept about the health system of the future.
Aim
The workshop's aim is activity participation where we want to share our knowledge of learning method and to discuss the academic content and the teaching method.
Participants
The target audience is anyone interested in the development of teaching methods and interdisci-plinary collaboration in health care.
Method
The workshop consists of three elements: Theoretical presentations, innovative workshop, collect-ing. The workshop participants will be actively involved in practical learning methods.
Expected outcomes
For participant and presenter is the outcomes expected to be increased knowledge about innova-tive teaching methods and forms of cooperation in relation to health service.
The documentation required
We need a screen for the theoretical presentations and preferable a room, where chairs and tables can be moved into smaller groups to the innovative workshop.
