Abstract

Compiling sign language dictionaries has in the last 15 years changed from most often being simply
collecting and presenting signs for a given gloss in the surrounding vocal language to being a
complicated lexicographic task including all parts of linguistic analysis, i.e. phonology, phonetics,
morphology, syntax and semantics.
In this presentation we will give a short overview of the Danish Sign Language dictionary
project. We will further focus on lemma selection and some of the problems connected with
lemmatisation.
