”At styre sundheden”: Forholdet mellem styring og subjektivitet i forebyggelsen af overvægt og depression i hele befolkningen og blandt de gravide i den danske folkesundhedspolitik 1999-2010

Publikation: Ph.d. afhandling/ kandidat/ diplomMasterForskning

The relation between governmentality and subjectivity in the prevention of overweight and depression in the general population and among pregnant women in the public health policies in Denmark 1999 - 2010 is analyzed by means of the theory of social construction and interpretations of Foucault’s concept of governmentality as further developed by Nikolas Rose and Signild Vallgårda. A movement from disciplinary to communitarian technologies is shown. The implication of the “health promoting strategies” is new subjectivities that can be productive or undermining of the self. Studies of practice are proposed in order to reveal technologies of the self.
