Abstract
-This chapter explores how educators can apply ‘act’ in entrepreneurship education (EE). Even though EE largely relies on students being able to act and put their visions for the future into concrete and realistic actions, few theoretical frameworks for understanding and investigating action exist. The acting has previously been investigated through different lenses, such as entrepreneurial methods, processes, and practices, and by applying entrepreneurial tools that facilitate action. However, little is known about the underlying theoretical frameworks for investigating action/act/acting in the EE literature. Therefore, this paper aims to develop a framework for entrepreneurial action in EE and suggest different approaches to understanding action through a conceptual analysis and model. We tentatively argue for a difference and spectrum between action and Action and that the engagement of students and educators is needed to come closer to Action. A course at a Danish university is presented to provide examples of levels of action and Action to be used as a starting point for discussing practical implications for educators interested in creating action in their classrooms.
