Abstract

This presentation unfolds perspectives on:
The concept “clinical skilfulness”
How examining clinical skilfulness, rather than problems, inspires nursing students' transition to working life
How examining clinical skilfulness paves the way for a new educational method.
The results are identified and developed in an action research project and through empirically driven analyses 2020-2022:
Clinical skilfulness contains three perspectives: person-related, situation-oriented and context-dependent.
The method “Examining clinical skilfulness” supported the student´s professional development and faith in nursing life.
A curious, appreciative and investigative approach to clinical nursing practice is an alternative to a theoretical and controlling approach.
