Cooperative Design for Integrating Technical and Contextual Skills in Technical Training

Abstract

This study investigates how co-design works as a method ofmerging core and contextual skills early in the educational design process.The cooperative design method, HEI4Future Co-design, involvesstakeholders working together to enhance workforce capabilities in specifictechnical industries entering digital transformation.The HEI4Future Co-design method was examined for its instrumentalityin transforming contextual entrepreneurial skills into domain-specifictechnical core skills. The method was applied through workshops exploringthe integration of entrepreneurial skills into technical learning activities.The study indicates that the HEI4Future Co-design and cooperativeapproaches significantly transform EntreComp skills into domain-specificcore skills. Moreover, it revealed that the cooperative process increasesskill transfer when introduced early in the educational design process.
