N2 - In the nineties the implications of a limited definition of the territory in music pedagogical research were discussed by, among others, Harald Jørgensen and Frede V. Nielsen. The main purpose of this article is to draw the attention of the readers to the issue about the definition of music pedagogical research in Scandinavia. This discussion, which is connected to the question about the status and future of music pedagogical research, can not be ended but will be important as long as researchers want to be in a dialogue with music pedagogical praxis. In this article I emphasize issues about the territory in music pedagogical research, the music pedagogical research as science, the relation between music pedagogical research and praxis and, at last, radical implications for the music pedagogical research of today.
