Abstract
This thesis deals with the concept of quality in the national health care system. Data are analysed from a governmental and a health care professional position within the frame of ethnological state theory.
The central topic of research: identification of these positions, their conflicts, common ground and the motives and consequences of the governmental position on health care practice and organisation.
Analysis shows the governmental position, which partly is adapted by healthcare professionals, emphasises standardization and patient experience. It is part of an institutionalized conceptual structure that orientates the health care system towards the market, as part of an economical globalization strategy.
