Abstract
This paper suggests that reflective practice-based learning, as a learning philosophy, can support the development of organizational improvisational skills in an educational setting in the shape of a course in management and development in public sector organizations. In doing so the paper describes how the role of the educator shifts from that of a ”teacher” to that of a ”learning process facilitator”, hereby creating new expectations in relation to teaching and developing professionals. The findings are concerned with a characterization of the ”learning process facilitator”, imagined as the individual, who facilitates reflective practice-based learning processes through different intervention types and through balancing scaffolding and disturbance.
