Abstract
This article describes and discusses
how relief and alleviation in
nursing is understood as a core
concept in the nursing profession.
Initially, a concept clarification
of key concepts in the nursing
field is presented. Secondly, methods
to conduct concept analyses,
development and evaluation are
presented. Finally, a theoretical
analysis and discussion of the
concepts of relief and alleviation
in nursing are presented. It is
concluded that the concepts are
relatively unclear and immature
nursing professional concepts,
which cannot be used in theory,
research and practice without
further clarification. The article
describes the first part of a development
project on nursing concerning
relief. The project consists
of a theoretical concept clarification
followed by empirical
studies among nurses and patients
to identify experiences regarding
relief and alleviation in
nursing
