Making pedagogical purpose explicit in entrepreneurship education theory and practice - the case of formulating a teaching philosophy

    Abstract

    How do entrepreneurship educators translate purposes of education into teaching practices? In higher education institutions (HEIs), there is a lack of knowledge about the pedagogical underpinnings of teaching practices for entrepreneurship education (EE) (Gabrielsson et al., 2020; Hägg & Gabrielsson, 2019). Individual educators rely on tacit beliefs and values that implicitly influence their own style of teaching – their teaching practice. However, EE researchers have struggled to theoretically explain how these practices come about and how different educational purposes interact in this process (Jones, 2019; Ramsgaard & Blenker, 2021).
