Abstract

Short intensive courses, where students have the opportunity to be part of an international learning community, are an alternative to student exchange programmes abroad (that typically last from 5 weeks to 3 months). Short intensive courses can provide new experiences and discoveries outside the students’ everyday learning environment.
The Nordplus Network Freja for midwifery education provides opportunities for student and teacher exchange. Three educational projects developed by the network form the basic material for this chapter.
To enhance the understanding of students’ learning and knowledge development, the authors have collected and analysed data from the educational projects developed by the Nordplus Network Freja.
