Nature as Co-Teacher

This stream discusses cultural processes of bildung and learning in relation to early childhood nature meetings in the Nordic countries and beyond, highlighting research addressing relations between nature pedagogies and sustainability education. The stream explores children’s nature experiences, relations and agency, new approaches to nature pedagogies (e.g. wild pedagogies and slow pedagogy), collaborations between research and practice on children’s nature encounters, as well as ethics and dilemmas related to children’s nature experiences. The session offers insights into a variation of theoretical and methodological perspectives on children’s nature meetings.
