Abstract
In collaboration with Kolding Municipality and the Paediatric Department at Kolding Hospital, the nursing college in Vejle has developed internet-supported teaching for the clinical module of nursing training. The aim is to support communication, reflection and learning in clinical practice. In the virtual classroom, guidance can be provided which is independent of time and place, and regardless of whether the student and the clinical nursing tutor are physically present at the same time.
Experience shows that the use of internet-supported teaching helps to qualify the clinical tutorials as it engenders broader, deeper reflection, in that it is possible to ask reflective questions at a distance from a specific learning situation.
It is the experience of training managers that training nurses has to a greater extent become a shared responsibility of nursing colleges and practice, with links between theory and practice more visible to the student.
