Abstract
This paper outlines two initiatives:
1. a part-time course in research methods for social workers in practice; and
2. a study of an evidence-based screening tool in child protection.
These presentations at the Evidence into Practice Special Interest Group session at the European Association for Social Work Research 2025 conference are summarised. They are discussed using the overarching concepts of acceptability, appropriateness, feasibility as examples of practical approaches to bring evidence from research into practice.
