Abstract
Research on the health benefits of recreational sports for adults with severe physical disabilities is limited. This study examined the Danish Team Twin’s inclusive push-assisted running program, where people with and without disabilities run together using specialised chairs. Over 16 weeks, 21 participants completed an average of 10 sessions in a single-arm experimental pre-post design. Data from self-reported questionnaires and clinical assessments were analysed using mixed models and descriptive statistics. No significant changes were found in QoL or health outcomes, but participants reported joy, social connection, and motivation. While quantitative effects were limited, the positive experiences suggest potential health benefits, warranting further exploration of experiential outcomes.
