This paper present the first state of a PhD project on pedagogical practices according to play diversities in schools. First the paper elucidate why play is a pedagogical task in schools. Secondly, the paper presents the design of the research. The presentation discuss how design-based-research together with fieldwork might by applicable in order to explore and develop child centered, pedagogical practices according to support play participation for a diversity of children.
