Abstract

This article will test a hypothesis about whether it is possible to calculate the complementary color of a given color in different color systems.
After testing the methods in the color systems: RGB, CMYK, CIELAB, HSB and Spectrum it seems to be possible.
Although there are different online applications which provide the calculation of the complementary color they seem to be limited to either unprecise calculations or only applicable in a few color systems.
This paper will provide further possibilities by adding methods for calculation in other color spaces.
