Abstract

This paper investigates the transformative potential in the section of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Artificial Reality (AR), and Business Intelligence (BI) in enhancing data visualization for digital building design. The aim is to identify research gaps, challenges, and opportunities in this evolving field. A semi-structured literature review identifies key trends, challenges, and opportunities, emphasizing the need for standardized protocols, user-friendly interfaces, and scalable solutions. The findings suggest integrating BI and VR/AR with BIM can significantly improve project outcomes, reduce errors, and foster innovation. Future research should address technical barriers and explore this integration’s socio-technical implications.
