Research Centre for Built Environment, Energy, Water, and Climate
The Research Centre for Built Environment, Energy, Water, and Climate conducts applied research in close collaboration with private and public partners, as well as with VIA's other research units. The Centre disseminates, develops, and produces new knowledge that contributes to new technological solutions in the areas of built environment and the future of construction, sustainable consumption of resources within clean drinking water and ‘green’ energy, as well as digital enterprise systems.
The Centre has four research programmes:
- Research programme for intelligent and sustainable construction
- Research programme for digital enterprise systems
- Research programme for water technology
- Research programme for energy og climate
Connecting research, education, and professional practice
The Centre aims to collect, develop, and disseminate new knowledge about the Centre’s research areas as well as meeting and challenging regional and global needs. The Centre’s research and development activities should be translatable and used in both professional practice and VIA's educational programmes, such as construction, engineering, and value chain management. That is why we collaborate with the business community, public authorities, interest groups, and other research and development institutions. The close collaboration with the world around us carries through all our activities.
Our areas of expertise include:
- Build 4.0
- Circular economy in construction
- Indoor climate
- Energy
- Drinking water
- Climate change adaptation
- Geology and ground water
- Corrosion and materials
- Digital enterprise systems
