Research Centre for Social Marginalisation

Research Centre for Social Marginalisation conducts research into social work problems related to social marginalisation.

We conduct research on social work problems related to social marginalisation. We study social marginalisation in an interdisciplinary perspective and focus on encounters between professionals and citizens in different types of welfare initiatives. For example, municipal employment initiatives, prevention and/or treatment of drug use, placement of children and young people outside the home or residential facilities for citizens with disabilities.

In our research, we focus on both the citizens' own and the professionals' perspectives, as well as on the organisational and political framework that exists for the encounter between citizen and professional.

We work with different research designs and methods, and on the basis of different theoretical and analytical perspectives.

The research centre is headed by Vibeke Asmussen Frank.
