Presentation

Ditte is engineer in biotechnology from the Technical University of Denmark and doctoral graduate in molecular microbiology from Institute of Environmental Science, Aarhus University, Denmark. Ditte has specialist knowledge in topics as: biofilm, microbiological processes, quantification and identification of microorganisms, water treatment and distribution, water quality, execution of laboratory-, pilot- and full-scale experiments as well as project management.

Ditte has since 2014 worked as a researcher and teacher at VIA University College. Ditte is responsible for the Water Technology Laboratory and has since March 2022 been Head of the Program in Water Technology in connection to the Research Centre for Built Environment, Climate, and Water Technology.

Ditte carries out applied research, in particular within drinking water production, including microbial processes in sand filters, the distribution system and microbial contamination scenarios. Ditte has teaching experience from several courses and supervision at bachelor-, master- and Ph.D.-level at DANVA, Aarhus University and VIA University College.
