Research and development areas

I have a MA degree in Social Anthropology and a BA in Social Pedagogy. My research has mainly been based in Denmark using qualitative, ethnographic and participatory methods to explore issues such as social work with children and youth in marginalized positions, youth perspectives, and everyday life in residential care. I am engaged in working with a practice research design, and have written a book on practice research approach to studying social work practice (2022). I am engaged in teaching and developing theory and practice at the intersections of sociology, pedagogy, and social work; particularly in the development of participatory research methods. As a social pedagogue I have professional experience from working in residential care with children and youth. I am a member of the Nordic Research Network: Young people, Belonging and Exclusion. We have extensive experience with qualitative research methods in youth studies, and have written two books about involving methods in youth research (2016; 2021). 

Teaching

Jeg er samfundsfaglig underviser på børne- og ungeområdet. Jeg varetager undervisning om fx børnefattigdom, nye familieskaber, bevægelige søskendeskaber, ungdomskultur, unge i risiko, organisationskultur, sociale kategorier og marginalisering, anbringelse på børne- og ungehjem.

Derudover vejleder jeg bachorprojekter.
