Presentation

Klaus’ research interests encompass integrated and interdisciplinary mathematics and science education. Klaus has more than 15 years of experience in the education and training of teachers for primary and secondary school and holds a Ph.D. Degree in mathematics education with special emphasis on how this subject relates to science education. Klaus's research interests range from qualitative design studies of interdisciplinary capabilities among teacher students to the mathematical thinking of students and quantitative studies in connection with intervention projects in primary and secondary school. The teaching of talented students and pre-service teachers has been a long-standing research interest, as well as the use of technology in teaching. Klaus uses a wide variety of methods and theories, but have particular expertise in Lesson Study and the Anthropological Theory of the Didactic.
