Personal profile

Presentation

Lene Munch is a project manager at Absalon University College, where her research focuses on how people with chronic illness – particularly diabetes – experience and manage their health in everyday life and in their interactions with healthcare technologies, structures, and practices. She is interested in how co-creation, user involvement, and dialogic methods can enhance the quality of both education and clinical practice.

Lene leads and participates in several research projects, including Partnership for Education for Health Professionals (PEP) – an international collaboration between India, Kenya, and Denmark aimed at strengthening the quality of nursing education in the prevention and care of cardiometabolic diseases. This will be achieved through co-creation, capacity building, and knowledge sharing. She is also associated with the projects Confidentiality and youth voice in diabetes care and Symptom burden in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis.

Her research is characterized by qualitative, quantitative, and practice-oriented approaches, where design thinking and co-creation are used as methodological tools to develop new solutions in collaboration with patients and healthcare professionals.

Through national and international collaborations, Lene Munch works to create new knowledge that can be directly translated into improved clinical practice in the healthcare system. Her ambition is to contribute to a healthcare system where the patient's life world and professional expertise meet in meaningful dialogue that promotes autonomy, understanding, and high quality in care.
