Research and development areas

  • Better evaluation: Q-metodology (Q-sort), systematic study of patisipant viewpoints. To investigate the perpsectives of patisipants who reprecents different stances of an issue, by having patisipants rank and sort series of statements

  • Technological literacy in teacher education and in primary school. As a lecturer, I experiment with increasing the technological literacy of teacher students in general pedagogical subjects. By interchangeably coding and decoding digital artefacts we aim for the students to become digitally mature, so they are motivated and prepared to handle working with technological literacy and digital maturity in their jobs at primary schools. Methodically we apply a design approach to technological literacy.

  • Videoobservation, collegial sparring and PLF grounded in IRIS Connect. How do teachers improve through observation, sharing knowledge and collegial feedback? Through systematic observation both teachers and teacher students can grow more knowledgeable of their own practice.

  • As a teacher educator I use the student’s video reflections from their internships or practice classes as a baseline for theoretical analysis in which the students decode and analyse their own teaching methods.

  • Flipped Learning: How could I improve the quality of the limited time for confrontation I have with my students? We learn when we test and experience. Therefore, I must use the time I have with my students optimally. By moving the dissemination aspect of teaching to my preparation time, I allow more time for experimental teaching. Students will acquire knowledge via our Youtube channel containing homemade dissemination videos of high quality. Additionally, I record podcasts about the subject matters we work with in class such that the students can experience the preparation as multimodally stimulating and intimate. Preparation in the teacher education should be more than textbook reading and the confrontation time should therefore be used to investigate, wonder and produce. I would like to investigate the effects of flipped learning in teacher education.
