PROFILE
My scientific expertise lies in applied practice-based research focused on advancing rehabilitation strategies for musculoskeletal conditions. I strive to unravel mechanisms of rehabilitation and utilize this knowledge to improve clinical practice. I use observational, interventional, and mixed-method studies to provide the foundation for development and evaluate new interventions with an understanding that rehabilitation does not make an impact through one single pathway, but rather through a multitude of mechanisms.
PREVIOUS AND ONGOING PROJECTS AS PRIMARY INVESTIGATOR/RESEARCH LEAD
- Pain!Behave? 2025-2028 – Single-case experiment with high density data collection to explore the intertwined relationship between expected and actual pain response, pain beliefs, and exercise behavior
- Working Towards Recovery 2025-2027 – Register-based cohort in 100.000 patients to uncover the impact of occupational loads on recovery
- Optimizing Exercise Adherence 2023-2026 – Intervention Mapping study to develop and test intervention elements, expected 10 PTs & 10 patients in workshops, 40 patients in feasibility study (Research lead)
- Framework For Delivery 2022-2024: Mixed-methods study to uncover barriers and develop delivery framework, included 5 GP’s, 7 medical specialist, 25 PTs and 10 patients (Research lead)
- Shoulder Guideline Adherence 2019-2021 – National Survey of 3306 patients mapping adherence to clinical guidelines for subacromial pain syndrome.
