Signe Stelling Risom

I’m currently working as a senior researcher at Herlev-Gentofte Hospital and as an associate professor at University College Copenhagen and University of Copenhagen. I am former a cardiac nurse and after finishing my Ph.D. I worked in a post.doc position and as a clinical nurse specialist. From those positions I have gained knowledge and experience with clinical work, research and project management.

My research has always been focused on patient’s perspectives on life with heart disease. I have worked in a multi-disciplinary team on the CopenHeart project (www.CopenHeart.org). Here we designed and tested rehabilitation for patients with heart disease. I have carried out systematic Cochrane reviews, nationwide surveys, interventional studies and qualitative research.

I have been the chair of a National Clinical Guideline in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary group of health-professionals from around the country and in collaboration with the Danish Health Authority’s. I have had several research-stays in the U.K. and the U.S. and have a large international network. I received a grant from The International Network Programme from the Ministry of Higher Education and Science for a workshop in the U.S.A. with American colleagues (it was postponed because of COVID). I am a Fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA) and a member of the Programme Committee at the Association of Cardiovascular Nursing & Allied Professions (ACNAP) at European Society of Cardiology. I have finished formal Pedagogical Education at University of Copenhagen. I currently supervise one Ph.D. student, have supervised five students in their Master thesis’ and 24 students in Bachelor projects. I have 28 peer-reviewed publications (and 7 submitted), a H-index of 10 (Scopus 29^th of April 29, 2021) and are a reviewer for more than 10 scientific journals.
