Stine bedriver pt. forskning indenfor emnerne udsatte børn og unge, herunder skolefravær i grundskolen, unges overgange efter særligt tilrettelagt ungdomsuddannelse (STU) og unge efterladte efter selvmord. Stine har tidligere forsket i ulighed i uddannelse og arv-miljø spørgsmål indenfor en række emner.
