Presentation
Since February 2024, I have been the Director of Research for the research area Technology and Industry at VIA University College. The research area consists of three research centres: the R&D Centre for Built Environment, Climate and Water Technology; the R&D Centre for Applied Textiles, Design and Circularity; and the R&D Centre for Animation, Movies and Digital processes.
The research area Technology and Industry employs more than 150 teachers and researchers located at five campuses. A key aspect of the research area is promoting and implementing practice-oriented research. This involves engaging closely with industry partners to ensure our research is directly applicable and beneficial to real-world challenges. The practice-oriented research includes hands-on projects where researchers work directly with companies and communities to test and refine new technologies and methods. This collaborative approach not only enhances the relevance and applicability of our research but also provides valuable experiential learning opportunities for our students and researchers.
