ANIMOK 2020 - Animation Festival for daycare and schools

ANIMOK started as a school competition back in 2008, but is today a festival for both children in daycare and schools. We are responsible for the planning and execution of free film programs, an animation school competition, a youth jury, teaching materials and high quality workshops. The festival runs in together with Viborg Animation Festival.

ANIMOK has two main purposes:
1. That children actively encounter animation as a cultural and aesthetic form of expression that they can make into their own personal language.
2. That children, through film screenings and hands-on workshops, become acquainted with the UN's World Goals and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and thus make them active world citizens with rights and an important voice.

Having an aesthetic and cultural language, as well as a knowledge and an understanding of the world, locally as well as globally, we see as two basic pieces in the formation of children. To ensure that we work from our purpose, we work with these 3 main concepts: "Experience, understand and create", when we plan the program for each year ANIMOK, and when we work with our long-term vision for ANIMOK.

226 children was a part of the school animation competition.
1080 children saw animation in the cinema
60 children was part of this years youth jury.
254 children participated in workshops.
