Description
The Quirino Awards are born out of the necessity of an award that recognizes the talent of the Ibero-American animation industry, generating links and networks between both sides of the ocean.
Therefore, the event will gathers the blooming Latin-American industry along with the Portuguese, Andorran and Spanish industries, building a true brotherhood to develop the great market that is Ibero-America together.
An Ibero-American coproduction forum and an International Congress of Ibero-American Animation are generated parallel to the awards.
The awards are named in honour of the creator of the first animated feature film; in 1917 Quirino Cristiani directed `El Apóstol´, an Argentinian production where 58.000 drawings in 35 mm were used besides several miniatures.
