Project Details

Description

The project focuses on the effectiveness of VPL policies and practices for labour market inclusion and access to educational pathways. It will identify shortfalls and good practice of VPL and its impact on the LABOUR MARKET MOBILITY of individuals. INDIVIDUAL BENEFITS and the ROLE of EMPLOYERS for VPL will be the focus of the project. These aspects have not yet been assessed because the focus of projects has been on methdologies. The project will (i) develop supporting material to include this perspective in VPL processes including training materials and will (ii) strengthen current VPL initiatives and procedures to take the aspects of individual benefits and labour market inclusion into account.
ACTIVITIES:
1. Evaluate the advancement of VPL policies, practices and procedures and whether new and/or reinforced activities take the issue of effectiveness into account.
2. Assess the benefits of VPL for the individual, i.e. whether and how validation procedures support individuals’ labour market inclusion, employability and further learning opportunities.
3. Channel the project outcomes back into the current VPL policy dialogue and ongoing VPL activities to support the advancement of VPL in the participating countries.
4. Strengthen cooperation for VPL at the regional and national level to enhance effectiveness of VPL.
5. Strengthen cooperation for VPL across Europe and foster a better understanding of VPL approaches, procedures and methodologies.
6. Create awareness for VPL in countries where VPL has thus far not been on the agenda as in Turkey.
7. Strengthen the focus of validation practice on effectiveness and formulate guidelines accordingly.
8. Develop training material for practitioners to support validation procedures.
9. Assess the role of employers to support VPL for labour market inclusion. Raise awareness of employers to the issues and potentials of VPL. Develop guidelines for the engagement of companies to support the VPL of their employees.
