Project Details

Description

Jens Settergren is a Danish visual artist who has graduated from the Danish Academy of Fine Arts and was further educated at the International Academy of Art Palestine. Jens `artistic practice includes various formats, among them text and sound, which often develop around a clear conceptual idea. In his works he explores how sensorial qualities (i.e. sound, fragrances, and temperature, etc.) can work as a catalysts for images and ideas.

During Viborg Animation Festival 2020, Jens has exhibited his audio visual/installation called The GPS Will Take Me Home. It is a celebrated piece that touches on artificial intelligence, simulated life, and the instinctive ability of a bird to find its way over long distances. Jens Settergren draws parallels between this and the GPS technology that allows humans to do the same, examining the way in which our dependence on technology has in many ways already ushered in the age of the cyborg.
