Description
´Fitness for All´ (involved in two subprojects);
1) Prevalence and socio-demographic profile of adults with physical impairments in Denmark – a register-based study (accepted publication))
Aims: To; 1) determine the prevalence of the whole group of people with physical disability, distributed by eight diagnosis-based subgroups in Denmark, 2) describe the demographic and socioeconomic variables (marital status, origin, education level, occupation etc.) for the eight subgroups of people with disability.
Study design: Register-based study
2) An evaluation study (on going)
Aim: To evaluate how end users with and without impairments experience using new build fitness centers that accommodates the needs of individuals with impairments.
Study design: Qualitative, focus groups interview study
Partners: 1) This subproject is a collaboration between the Research Unit of Musculoskeletal Function and Physiotherapy, SDU, Department of Physiotherapy, Institute of Health Studies, University College South Denmark, Esbjerg-Haderslev, Denmark, Research Unit for Clinical Biomechanics, SDU, Orthopaedic Research Unit, Department of Clinical Research, SDU and Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, OUH.
2) This subproject is a collaboration between the Research Unit of Musculoskeletal Function and Physiotherapy, SDU, and Active Living, Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics, SDU.
