Description
In the stroke unit in Aalborg Hospital, Denmark, formal dialog meetings with children have given us the experience that the children did not speak easily, and the professionals had to bee able to answer pathophysiological questions, and answer fatale and unexpected questions in a straightfoward, considered and defused way, and be able to cope with crying and rejecting children. The professionals gave the children and their healthy parent a linguistic frame of reference, but the nurses needed pictorial materals for young children and reqested a guideline to help repareing the meetings.
This qualitative semi structured interview was completed with the participation of three nurses, a social worker, and a neurological psychologist. The answers in the interview were categorised and condensed.
