Description

The Ministry of Education has decided to commence a research program for the strengthening of technological literacy in the mandatory courses offered at primary schools. The research program for mandatory technological literacy in primary schools should test technological literacy as an independent course in schools such that students will learn to engage critically with technology and shape it rather than just using it.

The research program will run in the period of 2018-2021 in close collaboration between approx. 45 danish primary schools and several municipalities that represent diversity of danish public schools, vocational schools and universitites. The research program is an extensive capacity building program aimed at developing educational courses and materials, competence development activities and support for implementation all aimed at answering the following questions:

1) How can subject matter/the course of technological literacy be incorporated as part of the mandatory courses offered at schools? 2) How can technological literacy as a subject practically be implemented in public/primary schools?
