Project Details
Description
Development project with Danish and international students in collaboration with an external company.
Key findings
B&O Play make high quality products but because of its size, with their products selling all around the world they do not seem to be LEAN in the way for example Liker and Womack and Jones describe it. That is for the reason that there are definitely many steps the company takes that is not LEAN and if a company wants to be LEAN it has to change every aspect of the company. The continuous improvement is constant and a company can never be done with adapting lean concepts. B&O Play is very conscious about their CSR policy and quality management. It is a very big part of their company, to provide value for their customers; the innovative technology, excellent design and both environmental and social focus in production.
The analysis of the Value Stream Map map show that an effective waste reducing and eliminating proposition is to implement a production line at the storages where all B&O Play products are shipped. Furthermore analysis of the company shows that an evaluation of all transports national and international could disclose a lot of waste.
