Student life in the time of Corona

    Project Details

    Description

The project examines students' academic, social and personal well-being. The study has a special focus on the conditions and frameworks that promote or hinder well-being among students. In this regard, it must be investigated whether there are forms of teaching that particularly support well-being. Specifically, the focus is on whether the students perceive student centered learning as supportive of academic, personal and social well-being.

The Corona crisis and the closure of educational institutions are seen in the study design as a critical case, which is expected to challenge students' well-being in general, challenge students' relations, and to challenge the teaching relationship between students and teachers due to the digitalisation of teaching. The crisis is thus expected to limit both the quantity and the quality of the interaction between students and teachers, which is expected to make student centered learning more difficult.

The survey is designed as a method triangulated project, which partly makes use of qualitative interview surveys and a questionnaire survey among all VIA’s students.
